Katie Fernald

Katie Fernald is a Wetland and Rangeland Ecologist with the International Crane Foundation (ICF) in Rockport, Texas. With degrees in Environmental Science (Wheaton College, MA) and Forestry (Iowa State University), her work is grounded in field-based research and endangered species conservation. Before joining ICF, she contributed to conservation efforts for species such as Piping Plovers and Golden-winged Warblers. Today, Katie helps advance whooping crane habitat research and works alongside private landowners across coastal Texas to create, enhance, and sustain functional wetland habitats.
