Our Work

Research • Monitoring • Decision Support

End-to-end ecological analytics—remote sensing, bioacoustics, spatial modeling, and automated reporting—delivered as decision-ready maps, metrics, and insights.

Bioacoustics monitoring & Analysis

We process ARU datasets from raw recordings through defensible ecological results.

Services include audio and metadata QA/QC, automated detection, species-specific validation, activity and occupancy modeling, detection-probability analysis, and report-ready visualization.

Deliverables often include cleaned detection tables, reproducible code, maps, seasonal summaries, interactive dashboards, and monitoring recommendations.

Detection modeling: Species-specific GAMs and machine-learning algorithms quantify how distance and environmental conditions affect ARU detection rates, supporting recorder placement and interpretations of non detections.

Remote sensing & spatial analytics

We convert satellite, UAV, and GIS data into defensible, decision-ready products:

     - surface water extraction and hydroperiod metrics,

     - land cover and habitat mapping,

     - change detection,

     - and predictive spatial models.

Our workflows emphasize accuracy assessment, transparency, and reproducibility, with deliverables that integrate seamlessly into agency planning, reporting, and management.

Surface water and wetland mapping: Statewide hydroperiod and connectivity analyses help identify wetlands and waterways in Texas made vulnerable by the  2023 Sackett v. EPA ruling, guiding more concentrated conservation efforts.

High-resolution UAV imagery & analytics

TEAL provides in-house UAV mapping, photogrammetry, and interpretation to produce GIS-ready, decision-grade deliverables.

Final products commonly include high-resolution orthomosaics, elevation surfaces (DSM/DTM/DEM), point clouds/3D models, and repeat-flight change detection for restoration tracking, erosion/shoreline movement, and vegetation condition.

Deliverables can be packaged for ArcGIS/QGIS workflows with clear metadata, QA/QC notes, and report-ready figures.
